Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

About the Role

As an Emergency Department Nurse, you will be an integral part of a highly skilled team delivering compassionate, evidence‑based care in one of Western Australia’s busiest emergency services. You will assess, prioritise, and manage a diverse case mix, utilising strong clinical judgement and teamwork to deliver timely and effective patient care. The Emergency Department operates 24/7 and provides care to a broad range of presentations across adult, paediatric, mental health observation and resuscitation areas, with dedicated support from multidisciplinary teams.


Key Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high‑quality emergency nursing care across a diverse patient cohort
  
• Conduct comprehensive assessments, formulate care plans, and implement interventions
  
• Utilise clinical expertise to monitor and respond to rapidly changing patient conditions
  
• Communicate effectively with patients, families and multidisciplinary colleagues
  
• Document clinical care accurately and uphold professional standards
  
• Prioritise and organise workload in a fast‑paced emergency setting
  
• Support quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a positive ED culture
  
  
  About You
  
• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  
• Minimum of 2 years’ Emergency Department experience essential
  
• Demonstrated emergency nursing skills and ability to work autonomously
  
• Effective communicator with strong clinical reasoning and problem‑solving skills
  
• Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
  
• Commitment to continuous professional development and quality care
  
• Experience across adult and paediatric emergency presentations is desirable
